We know that sometimes in life accidents happen, but don’t despair! Our team of first-class jewellers can look at jewellery of any age, style and type and will do everything they can to repair your treasured piece. Some repairs can be carried out in our showrooms; alternatively they will be sent to one of our experienced jewellery craftsmen and returned to you as quickly as possible.
To keep your jewellery looking its beautiful best requires a little tender loving care. Most jewellery can be cleaned at home, but sometimes a delicate item might require specialist cleaning to avoid damage. We recommend that you schedule an annual clean at your nearest showroom, where our jewellers will also look out for signs of wear and tear, and suggest essential repairs before problems develop.

Watch servicing and repairs
Your watch is more than just a pretty face. It’s a working machine that needs servicing regularly to maintain its function, appearance and value. A regular service is especially important if your watch has an automatic movement. How often it needs to be done varies from brand to brand but every three to five years should keep it ticking over nicely.
Servicing a watch is a hands-on, highly-skilled practice that takes time to develop. If you bring your watch to Goldsmiths, it will either be looked at personally by one of our accredited watch makers, or sent back to the manufacturer.
If you’re watch is in need of repair, our team of experienced watch technicians will do everything they can to restore it. Just visit your nearest showroom where a member of our team will give you an estimate for the cost of repair. In some cases, we may recommend returning it to the manufacturer for repair. In either case, we’ll be able to keep you updated with the progress of your repair and will let you know when your watch is ready to be collected.

Alterations and engraving
Your jewellery and watch need to fit you just as much as they need to suit you. So once you’ve chosen the piece that reflects your personal style, we can have it altered to ensure it fits you perfectly. We can help you with anything from a new strap or battery for your watch, to ring resizing and chain or bracelet adjustment.
If you’re buying for a friend or loved one, our engraving service can enhance your gift and add a uniquely personal touch. We can engrave words or images on jewellery, watches and giftware, making them one of a kind and something to be treasured forever.

Valuations
We hope no harm ever comes to your treasured possessions but it’s important that your items are insured, just in case you ever need to make a claim.
At Goldsmiths, we can arrange a valuation for you. We work closely with our independent, expert valuation partner, SafeGuard, to ensure you get a reliable and accurate valuation, provided by the UK’s most experienced and qualified valuers.
Many jewellers charge a percentage of your jewellery’s value to provide a valuation, but we charge a simple fixed fee so you’ll know how much the service costs before you agree to it.
In addition to our standard valuation service, we host a number of valuation days throughout the year in showrooms across the country. Quick, convenient and completely hassle free, our valuation days are the perfect opportunity to have your treasured pieces valued without ever being parted from them.
