History of Breitling

Léon Breitling was a watchmaker in St. Imier. He soon became widely recognized for his skilled pocket watchmaking and developed a formidable reputation. After this, Breitling started making chronographs as these were in demand for industrial and military organizations. After Léon Breitling passed away in 1914, the watchmaking business became a family affair. His son, Gaston Breitling, took over the business. Their innovation, entrepreneurship and drive pushed Breitling watches to develop and become world-renowned for quality and precision.
