History of WOLF Accessories

WOLF was established in 1834 by German silversmith Philip Wolf I when he realised that his silver pieces were more likely to sell when they were presented in beautiful boxes. Wolf quickly discovered that his boxes were even more popular than his silver items, which led him to refocus his designs and create elegant jewellery cases which not only looked attractive but protected cherished jewels and treasures.

The innovation behind Wolf’s original designs has been perfected as the business has passed through generations of the Wolf family, and today the WOLF brand is renowned globally for its beautiful yet functional watch winders, cases, boxes, and rolls.

WOLF continued its success after being taken over by Philip Wolf II in 1905 and later, in 1936, Philip Wolf III and his brother Ernst joined the family business. Philip Wolf III was a particularly skilled inventor and developed a number of ground-breaking techniques in the world of box-making. His contributions include hinges that could staple through wood and the iconic ballerina music box. Today, WOLF is managed by the fifth generation of the Wolf family and is honoured to create stunning boxes and watch cases in which centuries-old treasures can live proudly.
