Introducing the New and Exclusive Raymond Weil Tango 300 Chronograph
By Amanda Evans | 4 minute read
We are thrilled to present the Raymond Weil Tango 300 Chronograph, designed in two striking colours exclusively for the Watches of Switzerland Group.
Raymond Weil was founded back in 1976 by the man himself who had a vision to create timepieces that would bring a new dimension to the Swiss watchmaking industry. With creations that received acclaim from watch enthusiasts and connoisseurs, Raymond Weil became an international brand that would grow and shape its identity in the years that followed.
The brand was heavily influenced by music with early collections such as Amadeus, Toccata and Fantasia taking inspiration from composers and opera. The early nineties saw the birth of the Tango collection which has been held in high esteem to this day. Perfectly proportioned round or rectangular cases seamlessly blend aesthetics and functionality, which have made this collection so appealing to both men and women.
We invited Matthew Rowell at Raymond Weil UK to tell us more about the two latest additions to the Tango collection, exclusive to the Watches of Switzerland Group.
Thank you for taking the time out to speak with us today. Please could you introduce yourself and tell us a little bit more about your role and the part that you play at Raymond Weil?
Hi, I’m Matthew Rowell, the National Sales Manager at Raymond Weil UK. I have worked in the Swiss watch Industry for 12 years, joining Raymond Weil 8 years ago. Day to day I’m responsible for managing our key customer accounts, NPD, new launches and the creation and development of the national strategy for the brand.
The original Raymond Weil Tango collection launched in the early nineties with huge popularity and international acclaim. Could you tell us a bit more about the collection and why it attracts so much attention?
As you say it’s been part of our collection now for many years and continues to be a strong seller for the brand worldwide for both gents and ladies. Tango definitely combines elegance with a unique classic watch design to appeal to all ages.
Exclusively available to the Watches of Switzerland Group here in the UK, we are hugely excited to be the exclusive stockists of these latest Tango models. What sets these models apart from their predecessors?
Historically, Tango has been a mainly classic design, and these new exclusives form part of our new Tango 300 sports range for 2021 which we are extremely excited to bring to the retail market. The two new chronograph models, designed exclusively for Goldsmiths, Mappin & Webb, and Watches of Switzerland, incorporate striking green or blue dials with contrasting sub-dials which are really on trend for the UK watch market.
We are delighted to be the exclusive stockists of the new Raymond Weil Tango models. Available in the popular dial colours of green and blue, these exciting new models will appeal to watch enthusiasts that are looking for a timepiece for any occasion. I particularly like the contrast chronograph sub-dials; they really make the green and blue dials pop. These really are stand out timepieces!Elizabeth Milward, Senior Buyer – Watches
Who do you see these exclusive Tango models appealing to?
The new Tango 300 chronograph will appeal to all ages. It’s the perfect timepiece for any occasion being sporty yet elegant.
What is your favourite design feature of the exclusive Tango models and why?
Personally, I’m a big fan of green dials, favouring this colourway which is housed in a 43mm stainless steel case with the contrasting green dial and black sub dials making it stand out from a crowd.
How does Raymond Weil as a brand differentiate itself from the highly competitive Swiss watchmaking industry?
As you say in such a competitive marketplace it’s really important to utilise our watchmaking skills and family values which Raymond was famous for. We are proud to continue manufacturing elegant gents and ladies’ watches using the best possible materials whilst keeping our price-points very competitive within the Swiss watch industry.
So, what can our clients expect to see next from Raymond Weil?
Our CEO, Elie Bernheim, shares the same vision as his grandfather, to continue growing globally whilst focusing on our strengths as a watchmaker. For 2022 we are working on an exciting global rebrand which highlights our luxury position in the global marketplace with a new point of sale concept, more exclusive movements, and potential new music partnerships.
