Find a Balance

We’ve all got our jewellery box favourites, but when new season jewellery items drop, deciding on which pieces to wear can be a tough decision. So much so that we’ve all been guilty of not knowing when to stop layering!

Layering is a key trend that doesn’t seem to be disappearing just yet. Whether it’s necklaces, bracelets, ring stacking or a fully curated ear, the following guidelines should help you achieve the perfect balance:

1. Choose a focal point with a different shape, texture, or design to add interest and then layer with contrasting lengths to draw the eye upwards.

2. Don’t be afraid to mix metals, these days this is more than acceptable and positively encouraged with some jewellery pieces already having done the job for you with their colourful entwined metals. Stacking mixed metal rings is a wonderful combination that also prevents you feeling the need to leave your favourite piece tucked away for fear of mixing yellow gold and white gold together.

3. It’s not about a seamless execution of ‘matching’ the items together – pick a theme, this will usually be your focal point. Perhaps it’s a diamond or a coloured stone or maybe a floral inspired design.

4. An arm adorned with beautiful bracelets and cuffs can look positively enchanting…but if you’ve layered your neckline with some fabulous pieces, think about where you want the focus to be. Equally if you’re displaying a fully curated ear too then somewhere along the line there might just be a little too much, leaving the eyes of your admirers not knowing where to look first.
